This is February's layout for crafty stash the recipe is : Prima papers Blooming Retro range, cocoa, pumpkin pie and origami gardens, assorted blooms crystal gems a prima fabric word (loved that) and organza ribbon.
This is not my usual type of layout quite sparse really but that's the point its not your own choice so its different. Also we have actually used the green backing of the fabric word that's different too!! The gems in the semi circle should have been hand stitched french knots whatever they are err don't do hand sewing no way so I did my own thing there
The pic itself is one we had done of all 3 girlies at picture proud at Elsecar heritage centre 18 months ago Sars was hysterical after being asked to pout this does not come naturally to Sara Holly and Alicia yes Sara no lol x thanks for popping by x

layout from last night
This is my L/O from last night at craftden its one of two pics Sara had of me 30 years ago where has the time gone along with the nice teeth nice flawless skin and thick hair oh and slim body lets say I'm deeply depressed.
last nights recipe (cheerer things) pink bazzil 3 shades a patterned paper called promise me from the cloisonne collection by g.c.d. various flower punches some flower soft. I cut letters on my cricut but had to edge them in black ink so they showed up then I put a pearl in each flower center I may tweak it a bit more. x

I took inspiration from http://sandrasplace-sandra.blogspot.com/ and have tried some masking not quite in the right place but you wouldn't know if you close your eyes. Distress inks and magnolias again no change there then but I DO love em and a giant Martha Stewart punch.

One down one to go!!!
Here's my page from a week last Thurs at craftden its not a good pic though is it? Its bazzil, background stamped with a couple of old hero arts butterfly stamps and various sentiment stamps.I only had one small picture so had to expand the page with embellies, various sizzix dies and a bit of my minds eye papers but I have boobed the bottom flower looks as though it has a black line through it but its in the pattern, but looks weird on pic, never mind. I love the large monarch butterfly ms punch Lynne has them in stock at craftden. Just one more page to catch up on. wayhay

How late is this? oopps
This is my scrapbook page from two weeks ago I couldn't find my camera so I'm just catching up now. These are pics of Holly's 18th birthday as you can see they dressed up (again) and had a fabulous time.
The papers are blonde moments mounted on black and cut round two edges with a stamped template then added a bit of blonde moments ribbon and pleated it oh I forgot we stamped a Tim holtz background stamp in black first, then did a bit of doodling round edges a swirl done with magenta stickles and a few layered flowers then I made an 18 out of an 8 and a 4 because I had used the 1 so I had to cut down a 4 "where theres a will theres a way" I painted it with wild plum dabber then glammour dusted it and covered it with glossy accents now I've got to go and finish last weeks page such a hard life eh lol x

What I do is.............
One or two peeps have asked how I did the distress ink colouring well I do it like this and its probably not right but hey ho here goes (no photos I'm afraid) all items except watercolour paper from Lynne at http://craftden.co.uk
1 stamp image onto watercolour card with archival ink
2 wet paper inside image before painting this is important
3 I use an ordinary paintbrush set I bought from tesco but use what works for you
I take the colour straight from the distress pad on a damp brush using the back of my left hand to dry off a too wet brush I tend to get a chapped hand ha ha
4 start coloring at edges then drag colour across the image keeping depth at edges and blend blend getting lighter toward the centre until you get the desired effect a case of practice makes perfect or at least better lol. sometimes I have to keep the card quite wet but not sopping wet
I hope this helps but the new Magnolia mag ( Lynne is a stockist) is supposed to have a proper professional instructional tutorial which will have a much better finished article xx
